Top New Construction Communities in Central Texas
Central Texas has a lot of new construction happening, but communities are definitely not created equal. The strongest options tend to combine good access to I-14, I-35, West Adams, Fort Hood, hospitals, shopping, lakes, and desirable school districts.
When comparing these top new construction communities in Central Texas, do not rely only on what is publicly listed. Builders often hold back inventory until homes are closer to completion, especially when they have several homes under construction. That means active listings are only part of the picture.
- Ask about completed homes, homes under construction, and available lots.
- Compare builder incentives, rate buydowns, closing-cost help, and price reductions.
- Decide whether a discounted spec home or a more personalized build matters more to you.
- Pay attention to lot size, HOA costs, septic systems, and the exact school district.

Three Creeks in Belton, TX
Three Creeks is one of the most versatile top new construction communities in Central Texas. It sits in Belton with convenient access to I-14 and I-35, making it especially appealing for people who want to be near Fort Hood, Temple hospitals, Waco, Austin, and the lakes.
Stillhouse Hollow Lake is right nearby, and the community itself has walking trails, a pavilion, playground space, a creek, and plenty of room to get outside. It is hard to beat that combination of location and lifestyle.
The big draw here is builder and price-point variety. Entry-level homes, larger family homes, and more elevated luxury options all exist in the same neighborhood. Current new construction examples ranged from the upper $200,000s into the upper $400,000s. Builders include Dr. Horton, Tippit Homes, and Carothers Homes.
You can find a smaller home around 1,800 square feet on a generous lot, a five-bedroom Dr. Horton around 2,500 square feet, or a more upgraded Carothers home with details like stone and brick, crown molding, wood beams, ceramic tile, and granite counters. It has new construction and resale opportunities, so it is one of those communities where it pays to compare everything available.
Rancho del Lago in Belton, TX
Rancho del Lago near Morgan's Point is my luxury pick among the top new construction communities in Central Texas. It is close to Lake Belton and Highway 14, but it feels peaceful, private, and much more rural than its access would suggest.
This is a place for buyers who value mature oak trees, larger lots, and a semi-custom feel. Carothers Homes is the active builder, with available lots and spec homes in the community. Building from the ground up costs more than purchasing a completed spec home, but it gives you the chance to select a floor plan and personalize finishes.
A featured home was priced around $869,000 for four bedrooms, three baths, roughly 2,800 square feet, and a half-acre lot. The community has an annual HOA fee of about $250, and homes use septic systems. The premium is really about the land, oak preservation, privacy, and included outdoor living features.
Expect elevated details here: two-tone cabinetry, wood beams, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplaces, high ceilings, landscaped yards, extended patios, outdoor kitchens, grills, and sinks. This one is in Belton ISD and remains within reach of Waco and Austin.
Reynolds Crossing in Killeen, TX
Reynolds Crossing in Killeen is one of the most affordable top new construction communities in Central Texas, particularly for anyone prioritizing proximity to Fort Hood. It is north of Rancier, near I-14, and still offers reasonable access to Belton Lake and Stillhouse Hollow Lake.
The entry point is what makes this neighborhood stand out. New homes were listed in the low $200,000s, generally offering about 1,200 to just under 1,600 square feet. A three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home around 1,470 square feet was listed near $214,860 and ready for move-in.
These homes are designed to keep pricing accessible. Finish selections tend to be more limited, often with a small selection of cabinet, countertop, and flooring packages. That is part of how builders can deliver a brand-new home at this price point. For a first home, military relocation, or potential investment near Fort Hood, that can be a very reasonable tradeoff.
Levi Crossing in Killeen, TX
Levi Crossing is another Killeen option close to Fort Hood, but it offers a more elevated feel than Reynolds Crossing. Among the top new construction communities in Central Texas, this is a good middle ground for buyers who want more space, upgraded finishes, and a broader price range without moving into a fully luxury price bracket.
Saratoga Homes and Stylecraft build here. Prices ranged from roughly $265,000 to more than $500,000, with homes from smaller three-bedroom layouts to five-bedroom homes over 3,000 square feet.
The lower-priced options offer practical finishes like vinyl plank flooring, granite counters, neutral bathroom stone, carpeted bedrooms, and covered patios. The higher-end Saratoga homes bring in larger lots, more modern colors, ceramic tile, upgraded bathrooms, and substantially more square footage. If you need a lot of rooms, Levi Crossing deserves a look.
Heritage Oaks in Killeen, TX
Heritage Oaks is one of Killeen's premier luxury neighborhoods and another strong entry on the list of top new construction communities in Central Texas. Technically in Killeen, it is closer to Harker Heights and conveniently positioned near I-14, Fort Hood, Temple, Belton, and Stillhouse Hollow Lake.
The neighborhood includes resales as well as fresh construction, with homes on larger lots and builders such as Saratoga and Carothers. New construction examples included homes from the upper $400,000s into the $600,000 range.
A typical offering might include four bedrooms, three and a half baths, a three-car garage, and a third-acre lot. Buyers looking for spacious floor plans, upgraded materials, and higher-end exterior styles will find more variety here than in many Killeen communities.
Bella Charca in Nolanville, TX
Bella Charca in Nolanville is a gated, master-planned community that has grown through multiple phases. It is one of the top new construction communities in Central Texas for buyers who want upscale living, privacy, and a location between Harker Heights, Killeen, Belton, and Temple.
There are plenty of resales because the neighborhood has been established for a while, but builders are still active. New construction tends to sit roughly in the $400,000s through the $700,000s, depending on lot, builder, and finish level.
Flint Rock and other higher-end builders are active in the area. A Flint Rock home around $449,900 offered four bedrooms, three baths, about 2,100 square feet, a three-car garage, and a lot just under a quarter acre. Their homes often feature upgraded fixtures, thoughtful cabinetry, distinctive patio doors, and stronger design details than a standard production build.
Warriors Legacy in Nolanville, TX
Warriors Legacy sits just outside Bella Charca and gives buyers a more affordable way into the Nolanville area. It is one of the best value-oriented top new construction communities in Central Texas for people who like the location and general feel of Bella Charca but need a lower price point.
New homes were listed from about $299,000 to just under $400,000. Homes and lots are generally smaller than Bella Charca, and finishes vary by builder, but the location remains a huge plus. Both communities are in Killeen ISD and offer easy access to Harker Heights, Killeen, Temple, Belton, I-14, and I-35.
One especially strong value example was a Jerry Wright home priced around $299,000. It had four bedrooms, two baths, and a nearly one-third-acre lot. Jerry Wright builds on a smaller scale and brings a very recognizable Texas style, often with wood beams, ceramic tile, two-tone cabinetry, granite counters, subway tile, dual vanities, and separate tubs and showers.
Mill Creek Meadows in Salado, TX
Salado has a completely different energy from the Killeen and Belton markets. It is often compared to a little Fredericksburg because of the golf-cart lifestyle, golf course, small-town charm, and location closer to Austin. Mill Creek Meadows is one of the more spacious top new construction communities in Central Texas for that lifestyle.
Homesites are typically a half acre or larger, and most homes start around $600,000. Because lots are larger, homes use septic systems. Several quality builders are active, with room for both available inventory and custom building opportunities.
Listings ranged from about $619,000 to $849,000. A Denali Construction home offered four bedrooms, two and a half baths, about 2,439 square feet, and just over a half acre. Higher-end homes brought stone, stucco, detailed kitchens, three-car garages, large patios, and lots closer to three-quarters of an acre.
Eagle Heights in Salado, TX
Eagle Heights is an excellent Salado choice for buyers who want a more manageable price point. It is one of the top new construction communities in Central Texas where you can get into Salado while staying under $600,000, with some options in the $400,000s.
Carothers Homes builds in Eagle Heights, and their standard features are often upgrades with other builders. The neighborhood is right off I-35, in Salado ISD, and near schools, restaurants, shopping, and everyday conveniences.
A lower-priced new home was around $415,000 for three bedrooms, two baths, nearly 1,954 square feet, and a lot just under a quarter acre. The annual HOA is about $500 and includes access to a community pool and pickleball court. Expect ceramic tile, upgraded fixtures, shaker-style cabinetry, and a modern, moodier design direction.
Mesa Ridge in Temple, TX
Mesa Ridge is in Temple but within Belton ISD, which is a major reason it is one of my favorite top new construction communities in Central Texas. The location is hard to beat, with access to I-35, I-14, Highway 317, West Adams, Lake Belton, hospitals, retailers, restaurants, and grocery stores.
There are no major community amenities, but that is not really the point here. The point is access, school district desirability, builder variety, and pricing. Builders have included Dr. Horton, Flint Rock, Jerry Wright, Carothers, and Omega.
Prices ranged from the mid $200,000s to the mid $400,000s in the examples reviewed. That gives buyers a legitimate range, from a smaller entry-level home or investment property to a more upgraded three-car-garage home with wood beams, an electric fireplace, floor plugs, and a more polished kitchen.
This is one of those communities where I have seen buyers find real opportunities through incentives, price adjustments, and rate options. Mesa Ridge is hot for a reason.
Wilma's Way in Temple, TX
Wilma's Way is a bit of a hidden gem among the top new construction communities in Central Texas. It offers large half-acre lots right off West Adams, one of the hottest corridors in the Temple and Belton area. Getting that much land in this location is not easy.
Carothers is building here, with semi-custom opportunities and spec homes. It is in Belton ISD, close to Highway 317 and I-35, and positioned for easy access to both Temple and Belton. Luxury in this market generally starts above $500,000, and Wilma's Way fits that category.
A featured home was priced around $594,000 for four bedrooms, two and a half baths, roughly 2,452 square feet, and more than half an acre. The HOA is approximately $300 annually. Features included brick and stone, ceramic tile, wood beams, a wood-burning fireplace, quartz counters, custom cabinetry, tall doors, a laundry sink, dual vanities, a separate tub and shower, and a small outdoor kitchen.
Best Value & Luxury Communities in Central Texas
If I had to name one luxury favorite from the top new construction communities in Central Texas, it would be Rancho del Lago. It feels private and rural, has mature oak trees and larger lots, and still gives you excellent access to Lake Belton, shopping, schools, restaurants, and major roads. It is truly a unique community for this part of Texas.
For best overall value, I have two picks: Mesa Ridge and Three Creeks. Mesa Ridge wins for Belton ISD, West Adams access, Highway 317 convenience, builder variety, and a price range that can serve both entry-level and move-up buyers.
Three Creeks also has broad builder variety and is especially attractive for access to Fort Hood and Stillhouse Hollow Lake. The walking trails, pavilion, park, creek, and range of home styles give it a lifestyle advantage. These two top new construction communities in Central Texas offer the strongest blend of location, options, and future desirability.

New construction can look simple from the outside, but there are a lot of moving pieces. Inventory changes quickly. Builder incentives change quickly. And the on-site representative works for the builder, not for you.
A good strategy is to compare multiple builders, current spec homes, available lots, floor plans, incentives, HOA details, taxes, school districts, and realistic commute routes before signing anything. Whether you are relocating, buying your first home, upgrading, investing, or building semi-custom, these top new construction communities in Central Texas give you plenty of good options to compare.
